Almost every occurrence and thing has its own day – water, food, freedom of speech – all we need to choose is what and when to celebrate. Perhaps we shouldn’t try too hard and go watch a play on World Theatre Day. Instead we could expand our vocabularies with a theatrical expression “break a leg”.

For nine years in a row now UNESCO tickles poets’ heels with feathers so that they continue writing and for all their work that does not go straight into the rubbish bin to be heard. March 21st is the day when we ought to remember our favourite sonnet by Shakespeare, wear our bow tie or net stockings and write an e-mail that rhymes to our friends and colleagues.

Out with the Winter? (photo gallery)

The price of victory - bronze bananas

Lithuania already has a ticket to Olympic Games in Peking. The basketball team won against the team from Greece in Eurobasket 2007 "little final" and came back with bronze medals. The game, which once was promoted by Lithuanians in America, still has the great number of fans at home.
